Fashion is not only a statement.
Fashion can also do social good.
Wait a minute. How?
LNBF will be sponsoring and sharing the inspiring efforts of Coupons For Hunger and their Coupon-a-thon at the Ottawa Fall Home Show Sept 24th-27th.
The women behind Coupons For Hunger, Colleen Lindemann and Tonia Richardson, created this Coupon-a-thon as a social mission to help people and families in need. Started in their hometown of London, Ontario, the duo have taken their savvy couponing skills to purchase food for food banks. We wanted to support Colleen and Tonia because at LNBF, part of the philosophy of creating a sustainable world is to support those who are making a difference in their local community.
Since 2011, Colleen and Tonia have been collecting, rallying volunteers and the city of London to participate in their social mission. Creating coupon drop boxes at public libraries, public coupon drives and inspiring others that coupons can be tools for social good. Coupons For Hunger has donated over $47,000 worth of groceries to London Food Bank and other charities. Now they set a new milestone for us collectively – to donate 1 million dollars worth of groceries to food banks and charities across Canada through redeemed coupons – this is the 1 Million Goods challenge.
The Ottawa Fall Home Show is the first stop in their nationwide initiative and LNBF is proud to be supporting them along the way. We're happy to be providing Colleen and Tonia our eco-friendly clothing as well as sponsoring a giveaway at the show. We are giving away two $200 LNBF gift cards, if you attend the show and donate your coupons to Coupons For Hunger.
