Back to School "Eco-Friendly" Guide
Posted on 25 August 2016
Back to school is just a few weeks away. With all the fun in the sun and summer adventures, if you're anything like me, you've had no time to create your “back to school” shopping list for you, your children and (or) grandchildren! Don’t worry; read our eco-friendly guide to inspire your back to school shopping!
REUSABLE LUNCH BAGS
STAINLESS STEEL REUSABLE BOTTLE
We hope your family does not go to work or school with plastic water bottles. If you haven’t invested in a reusable water bottle, take a look at this S’well bottle. It is insulated, non-toxic, non-leaching and BPA free. When you purchase a bottle, 10 percent of the proceeds are donated to WaterAid, an organization that helps build clean and safe sources in third world countries like Africa and India.
Back to school means endless arts and crafts project, notes taking and assignments. Therefore, you are going to be using A LOT of paper. Did you know that, nearly 4 billion trees worldwide are being cut down to produce paper? Let’s save some trees and switch to purchasing our school supplies from Recycled paper. Check out this EcoJot Recycled Sketchbook for your school notes or doodles and this All-Star Recycled Set that includes pencils, colour pencils and a ruler for all of your school projects.
SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS CLOTHING
If you are going for an eco-friendly style this school year, why not encourage your children to add it into their wardrobe as well! Check out LNBF-Leave Nothing But Footprints classic and timeless basics such as Leggings, Tees and Long Sleeves. They are comfortable, breathable and great for those who have sensitive skin.
Thinking about snacks for yourself or for your children for lunch is pretty challenging – especially healthy snacks. Try Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruits for your children. They are a mix of strawberry, cherry and raspberry flavoured bunny snacks with 100 percent value of Vitamin C. And here is some Taste of Nature Organic Food Bars for you. They are 100% certified organic, vegan, and non-GMO.
